Freehold or leasehold?
Freehold
Ownership with no time limit. Non-UAE nationals can hold it only in the areas the Ruler of Dubai has designated; elsewhere in Dubai, ownership is limited to UAE and GCC nationals and the companies the law lists.
Leasehold
A right to use the property (usufruct or leasehold) for up to 99 years. The same article allows it for non-UAE nationals in the designated areas.
